![]() For some reason I clearly remember the quote "I could have sworn he was blond!" This is what makes me suspect it may have been a teen rather than a children's novel: the attractiveness of Robin and Marian and the romantic attachment between them is given a more detailed focus than it usually is in children's versions of the story. * There is a point later in the book where Robin returns to Nottingham to stop a wedding (possibly Alan-a-Dale's girlfriend's forced marriage, but I can't be sure) and when he enters the church he hears a lot of local women admiring him. ![]() Much is described as a little boy of around 10 or 12 years of age, and there's some punning on his name when Robin asks around after him: at one point when Robin asks for Much an old peasant farmer grumbles that he has "much nothing" to give. * The first couple of chapters involved Robin saving Much the Miller's son from execution after he accidentally annoyed some of the sheriff's men. It may have been Robin, but I'm pretty sure the character was called Robert for the first few chapters. (It may have been spelled Loxley in the print version - as I say, it was an audio book.) I remember that part very clearly. ![]() * The prologue or first chapter was almost certainly titled "Robert of Locksley Takes to the Woods". What I can remember are a number of quotes and incidental details from the book (which I had on audio cassette in the late '90s/early '00s), so hopefully if I list them here they will jog someone's memory: The problem with this is that I'm pretty sure I can remember the name of the book, but since it's either "Robin Hood" or "The Adventures of Robin Hood" or something similar that doesn't help an awful lot what I'd really like to know is which version it was. It's an old childhood favourite of mine and I'm on a nostalgia trip lately so I'll really appreciate any help anyone can give me. This one's been bugging me for ages - I've tried everything I can think of to find it again but to no avail.
